Our shop is joining the fun!

25% off ALL Holiday Kits and Fabric...

We will be open Saturday from 10 to 6

Dear Quilters,

Here we are at the end of another summer!  I don't know where the time goes.  For you northerners, it won't be long until you will be back.

We are making up new kits, putting new fabric on the shelves and planning classes for the winter. We have another shop hop coming after Christmas - the theme will be "Florida Sealife".

We will have a new Block of the Month from Timeless Treasures called, Lush.  You will LOVE it, it's "luscious"!

We have had a Vintage Farm Group working on blocks this summer.  Some people are doing 6" blocks, some 12".  It is a lot of fun to see what type of fabrics people are choosing.  We will continue this group in the fall and it will be open to newcomers as well, so please consider joining us.

I've been busy working on samples for the shop.  I finally finished the last of the Christmas samples and thought - "oh now I can make something for myself".... HAH!  Our UPS Man came in with the Block of the Month Kit!  Oh well, it is cut out and now I'm hoping to take a wee bit of time to begin something of my own.  I certainly have plenty of UFO's sitting at home to work on!

Next I walked into my sewing room and realized I had taken fabric out of closets to sort through!  I am determined to get to my sewing machine, even if I have to jump over some fabric squatters who have set up home there!  Will I finish a project?  Stay Tuned!

I hope you are all staying out of the heat and sewing up some of your UFO's,

Carol's Corner

Hi Ya'll,

Gosh, another year flying by!  It's only about 4 months till Christmas, in fact as I write this it's 138 days away.  I'm not sure which sounds better (or worse), 4 months or 138 days. Either way it will be upon us before we know it!

Finishing up some UFO's was going very well for a while, in fact I have 3 or 4 still at the quilters.  The current project is a Bargello and it's a bear! I'm determined to finish it before moving on to other things.  Baby steps but I'll get it done eventually.

It's been an eventful year for us.  The first 5 months was spent going from doctor to doctor having test after test.  My husband was finally diagnosed with lymphoma but God has been good to us. So far, he's perfectly fine and does not need treatment of any sort.  Labs every three months just to keep a check on things. We are so blessed!!

A health scare like this though, especially at my age has become a real eye opener.  It's definately changed my priorities in life. Those of you who frequent the shop know that I have already cut back the number of days that I work and starting in October I plan on cutting back even more.  I'll pick up a day here and there, a couple times a month is my plan at the moment. I do want to continue with classes. I might even have me to come up with something new!!!

Leo and I have been working on our house, putting up siding, redoing the kitchen.  My new cabinets should be here in a week. I can't wait! Living out of boxes and stuff everywhere is making me crazy!!  We'd like to do some travelling, just enjoy life, each other and our family.

This is a happy/sad letter for me.  I'm looking forward to the next chapter in my life but not being at the shop on a regular basis visiting, sharing, laughing, helping, will be quite an adjustment for me.  I've made such wonderful friends over the years, some of you from as far back as Quilts Etc. days. It's been such fun and each and everyone of you will always remain in my heart.  I'll continue to be around and I hope our paths will cross on the days I'm at the shop. My cell phone is always on if I can ever be of help to anyone. Thank you for all the love and joy you give me.

Happily Stitching Even More, I Hope! Carol
